1990s

In the 1990s, Francis Bacon, even into his eighties, maintained his characteristic vigor and explicitness in painting, as seen in works like "Study for Human Body" (1991). His personal life was marked by his relationship with José Capelo, who influenced several portraits during this period. Despite his continued energy and dynamism, Bacon's health was in decline, and he passed away in Madrid in 1992 from a heart attack (Francis Bacon).
